Hey, I’m Brandon. Photographer since 2018, small business owner, and apparently someone who thought building an entire platform from scratch was a reasonable way to solve a few problems.
I also own Crêpes et Amis, a small café in Midland, Michigan, so I know a thing or two about running a business, chasing customers, and wondering where the heck all the money went.
When I got into photography, I noticed two things pretty quickly. Finding clients was harder than it needed to be, and somehow I was paying a monthly subscription just to keep photos online that I’d already been paid to deliver. Make that make sense.
The idea is pretty simple: help photographers find clients, run their businesses, and deliver their work without getting nickel-and-dimed at every turn.
And yes, I’m actually the guy building it. No mysterious team of developers hiding behind a curtain. So if something isn’t working, I want to know about it. Seriously. Email me at brandon@ch4pter.com.
I’m building the platform I wish I’d had when I started, and I’d love for you to be part of it.
What Ch4pter promises
- Nothing is charged until the photographer accepts. You send a request and save a card. If the photographer declines, or doesn’t answer within 24 hours, the card is never charged.
- You see your photographs before you pay in full. A deposit holds the date, and the balance comes due only once you have seen a preview of the gallery.
- Real prices, real openings. Photographers list what they charge and keep their own calendars.
How Ch4pter is paid
Photographers join free. Their first three bookings carry no commission. After that it’s 8% on their clients, capped at $59 a month, and 12% on the first booking with a client who found them through Ch4pter.
